Hi there, Caddy owners. Today in your 2019 GMC Acadia, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motorhome. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motorhome and your vehicle; you'll need your base plate, which is the connection point your tow bar is going to attach on your vehicle; you'll need your diode wiring, which is going to take all the lights on your motorhome and transfer them to the lights at the back of your vehicle; you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar; as well as your braking system, which will apply the brakes in our vehicle when we hit the brakes in our motorhome. The diode wiring kit will provide diodes that go in between the lights on your vehicle and your vehicles factory wiring. The diodes act as a one way check valve for electricity so that way when we send the lighting signals from our motorhome to the lights here at the back, they can only reach the bulbs to illuminate them and it will not be able to back feed into our system causing any damage to our wiring. It does work in the other order as well. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be installing Roadmaster's Universal High-Powered Diode wiring kit. Part number RM-154.This diode wiring kit is gonna allow you to send signals from your motor home back to your vehicle's lights, so you can get your left turn signal, right turn signal, stop, and tail lamps. What else, is the diodes keep it completely separate and isolated from the wiring on your vehicle. So that way you don't have to worry about any of those signals back-feeding into your vehicle's systems. What's great about these is it's a permanent option that doesn't require any bulky things to be on your vehicle. So, it looks factory, and it operates like factory. There'll be one diode assembly installed into each circuit. For wiring your receive, we'll have a four pole flat connector on it, this way you can hook up to your motor home, and send all those signals back there. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 GMC Acadia, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit. Part number RM-15267.To complete our Flat Tow setup on our 2018 GMC Acadia, we use Roadmaster's EZ5 Base Plate Kit, Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit, SMI's Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, and Demco Dominator Tow Bars. This Diode Wiring Kit is going to allow you to hook up your vehicle behind your RV and get all that necessary lighting signals transferred from your RV back to the lights on the back of your vehicle. Also included with the Kit you get your 6 Pole Connector, which is the interface that allows your vehicle to connect to your RV. And you get the 6 Pole to 7 Pole cable that connects those two together. The diodes that are connected into your tail-lamp circuit ensures that the signals coming from your RV don't back-feed into you vehicle's circuitry; it's only sent straight to the bulbs. We'll begin our installation by removing both our driver's and passenger's side tail lamp assemblies. To remove those, you're going to want to pop out the little plastic covers exposing the screws. We're just going to use a flat-plated screwdriver to do this. We'll then remove both bolts with a T15 Torx Socket. We can then pull our tail lamp assembly towards the rear to remove it. more

Roadmaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles Installation - 2015 GMC Acadia- Video

Roadmaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles Installation - 2015 GMC Acadia

Today on our 2015 GMC Acadia we'll be taking a look at an installing the Fuse Master Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles. This is going to be a 30 to 50 amp, FMX fuse, part number RM76513. You will also need another bypass to tow, which is part number RM76514. First thing we're going to have to do is open up the hood and locate the fuse box, which is going to be right here on the driver's side. Now, if you correspond with our owners manual and dingy towing instructions, it's going to tell you that you're going to have to remove the Bat 1, 50 amp fuse that's going to be located here underneath the hood. Now, we'll go ahead and remove the cover and shield up here so we can kind of tuck our ground and everything back underneath here if we can. Once you have all the push pin fasteners removed that go around the shield, you can pull it up and out of the way. This isn't necessary, but it does help out. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2015 GMC Acadia

We're going to review and install part number RN-154 from Road Master. This is a universal high-powered diode wiring kit, and we're going to install it on a 2015 GMC Arcadia. With this part number, this is a part series C. Starting from here, these are our diodes, you get four in the kit, and you get the terminal ends, connect up to your wires. Quick note about the diodes, is that when you add power to the system on a vehicle from the RV, what this does is makes your power comes in, doesn't matter which tab you use, and all this goes out in this direction here, typically towards your tail light. That way, power coming in from the RV doesn't back feed into the rest of the circuits in the car, and maybe potentially cause some problems. more
